The aim of this chapter is to investigate how hybridization should help to improve efficiency and sustainability of heavy vehicles including public transportation systems, trucks, and tracked machines. Fundamental concepts are introduced and illustrated through a gallery of examples mainly related to previous research experiences of authors.
