The Rvytra project - an acronym for REcupero Vetroresina Yacht Trains cAmper - sees the Department of Architecture DIDA and in particular the Design Laboratory for Sustainability (LDS - DIDALABS, University of Florence) carrying out research in the field of Life Cycle Design and Design for Disassembly, according to a working method which sees universities and companies collaborating alongside each other to achieve high innovation and valid application feedback. The general objective is to define an industrial and eco-sustainable model of fiberglass recycling and develop new market opportunities, in a region like Tuscany which hosts the EFFEBI shipyard in its territory, the first manufacturer in the world of planing fiberglass boats. In this paper is described the contribution of LDS Laboratory organized on three goals: analysis of the scientific principles and strategies underlying the Design for Disassembly DfD, with output Guidelines for design; application of the Guidelines to case studies, that is to the products of partner companies and the redesign some components in VTR; verification of environmental improvements through Life Cycle Assessment analysis.

Abstract
In this paper is described the contribution of LDS Laboratory organized on three goals: analysis of the scientific principles and strategies underlying the Design for Disassembly DfD, with output Guidelines for design; application of the Guidelines to case studies, that is to the products of partner companies and the redesign some components in VTR; verification of environmental improvements through Life Cycle Assessment analysis.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
