Climate change is impacting forest ecosystems with more frequent heat waves, droughts and storms. Douglas-fir can help to mitigate and to adapt to these new conditions in order to achieve management goals, maintain desired forest ecosystem services and reduce the risks of forest degradation. Moreover, the role of natural regeneration could pave the way to intermixing native and non-native tree species, that may adapt better to future climate conditions, establishing resilient and productive climate smart forests.

Abstract
Climate change is impacting forest ecosystems with more frequent heat waves, droughts and storms. Douglas-fir can help to mitigate and to adapt to these new conditions in order to achieve management goals, maintain desired forest ecosystem services and reduce the risks of forest degradation. Moreover, the role of natural regeneration could pave the way to intermixing native and non-native tree species, that may adapt better to future climate conditions, establishing resilient and productive climate smart forests.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
