Agroforestry systems integrate woody vegetation with livestock and/or crops. It is highly valued for biodiversity and cultural heritage safeguard. Moreover, this system ensures an alternative feed resource for animals when pastures are less productive (i.e., dry seasons or winter) to fully satisfy animal requirements. However, agro-silvopastoral systems need a rational use of offered biomass and a rational herds' management as well, that imply an adequate grazing livestock density. In this context, the challenge is to maximize the benefits and overcome the issues provided by these systems using innovative technologies. At this aim, BOSCOLAMENTO project aims to test Virtual Fencing (VF) technique in an agro-silvopastoral system on Maremmana cattle. VF can be defined as a structure serving as an enclosure, a barrier, or a boundary without a physical barrier.

Abstract
VF can be defined as a structure serving as an enclosure, a barrier, or a boundary without a physical barrier.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
