La circolazione europea delle 'Rivoluzioni d'Italia' di Carlo Denina

This article aims at exploring the European reception of Carlo Denina’s Rivoluzioni d’Italia. This work, published in Italian between 1769 and 1771 had a significant circulation in France and England and a lot of translations were realised in the 1770s. Trying to combine different approaches (cultural history of translations, book history, material bibliography), in this paper we will focus the attention on a comparison between the French and the English translation, in order to reflect on the role played by translators and publishers in the “manipulation” of the original text.
