A pedagogical outlook on children's rights to participate allows us to understand and recognise them not only as pertinent and not at all paradoxical (Moro, 1996) but also and above all as fully realisable. This perspective is necessary because until we act on the contexts to make them appropriate to the characteristics of children, protection will remain the most difficult obstacle to overcome in order to achieve participation. This is the paradox of children's rights. It is up to the adult to grasp it and accept the challenge it poses to his or her reassuring common sense: to act to make contexts and relationships appropriate for the active participation of children

Abstract
A pedagogical outlook on children's rights to participate allows us to understand and recognise them not only as pertinent and not at all paradoxical (Moro, 1996) but also and above all as fully realisable. This perspective is necessary because until we act on the contexts to make them appropriate to the characteristics of children, protection will remain the most difficult obstacle to overcome in order to achieve participation. This is the paradox of children's rights. It is up to the adult to grasp it and accept the challenge it poses to his or her reassuring common sense: to act to make contexts and relationships appropriate for the active participation of childrenI documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
