The role of the socio-pedagogical educator today is that of a very complex professional figure, who is required multiple theoretical and practical skills that can be used in the world of work. In the university sector, the L-19 First Cylcle Degree Programmes are, therefore, called to provide a training offer that gives future educators the appropriate tools to respond adequately to the varied and multiple needs of the current educational and social contexts. It is in this direction that the research project presented in this contribution is moving, of which the first results will be illustrated: the “Crescere Insieme Con-TestI (CICONTI)” project, focusing on the topic of reading aloud. The two-year project, which began in June 2022 and is currently in progress, is promoted by the Department of Education, Languages, Interculture, Literature and Psychology (FORLILPSI) of the University of Florence and co-financed by the Tuscany Region. “CICONTI” has as its main objective to train students of the L-19 First Cycle Degree Course of the University of Florence about the topic of reading aloud, through the provision of a training activity dedicated to it, in order to increase their knowledge and skills in this regard, so as to adequately promote good practice of reading aloud in the educational contexts in which they will work. In order to achieve this objective, “CICONTI” is being implemented in the Tuscan territory through multiple actions, some of which have already been carried out during this first year of research, in close synergy with the network of partners involved, that are subjects working on the regional territory in the educational and cultural sector. The first research activity, which is currently in its final stage and will be presented in this contribution, concerns a mapping study conducted according to a partly qualitative and partly quantitative approach, to survey experiences, good practices and reading 193 III.3. At the same time, an analysis of the national and international literature has been launched, to analyze the main theoretical constructs and the most used strategies for promoting reading aloud, to detect the methodological indicators necessary to spread a quality and cutting-edge reading education and the core competences to be transmitted to students in the training pathway provided by “CICONTI”. Based on the results of the two research activities described above, the experimental training course will be developed and provided during the second year of the project, thanks to the networking with the territorial subjects involved. Here we will present some preliminary data that emerged from the mapping study, analysed according to an “exploratory” and quantitative approach, based on the following two macro-categories: territorial framework of the experiences, projects and good practices of reading aloud received; typology/ age group of the target of the experiences surveyed. As can be deduced from the analysis, although the mapping framework outlined is not definitive, the preliminary results show the typological variety of the reading aloud projects implemented on the Tuscan territory, bearing in mind, especially, that this mapping, insofar as it is limited to the intervention realities of the partners involved, is not exhaustive of all the experiences conducted at a regional level.
