The development of teachers’ digital competences represents a challenge whose importance is rapidly growing up in the current educational field. OECD data from the Teaching and Learning International Survey (TALIS) referring to the pre-Covid-19 period (OECD, 2019; OECD, 2020) show that in Italy 17% of lower secondary school teachers indicated a high need for professional ICT (Information and Communication Technology) training for teaching, according to the average percentage of OECD countries (18%) In this context, this paper presents the results of a study conducted at the University of Florence in 2022-23 with the aim of promoting future teachers' ability to design an educational intervention on students' digital competence.
