Asimmetrie e interazioni nell’accordo di plurale in varietà retoromanze: -s, -i, -a

In some Raeto-Romance varieties, the plural inflection -s competes and interacts with the vocalic plural -i, typically in Friulian, and in Dolomitic Ladin varieties with the feminine -a. This article addresses the asymmetric occurrence of sigmatic plural inflections in Determiner Phrases (DPs) and in the sentence, with particular attention to the status of the inflection -a. We argue that: (i) asymmetries between nouns and determiners or clitics depend on the referential properties of such elements; (ii) the distribution of the feminine -a reflects its interpretive properties; (iii) the type of plural agreement is syntactically based.
