Abstract

Every copy, whether manuscript or printed, implies a model and a decision of the copyist or printer in front of it. It has been observed that every new transcription implies a compromise between the spontaneous imitation of the antigraph and the needs of "formatting" the apograph in a new and usually different from the model. The cases presented show how copyists are profoundly influenced by the model before them in their choice of material features.
