Tracce di ricerca per lo studio delle mura storiche della città antica di Ashkelon | Research traces for the study of the historical walls of the ancient city of Ashkelon

Ashkelon is an ancient city located on the Mediterranean coast between Gaza and Ashdod, now Israel. The urban structure has strongly developed over time, but only fragments remain visible today. To understand the urban form, whose walls are an incisive sign, we approach the study of historical written and iconographic sources, which are analysed through graphical analysis. The research is part of the ASKGATE project and focuses on both infrastructural system and architectural structures considered of central relevance, such as the church of Santa Maria in Viridis.
