Teramo nel basso medioevo: la trasformazione di un sistema politico (secoli XII-XIV)

This essay proposes a new narrative of the political history of the city of Teramo, in northern Abruzzo, from the 12th to the 14th century. The aim is to overcome the traditional interpretation, which focuses on the acquisition and loss of the “communal freedom” (that of central and northern Italy), without disregarding the elements of political culture of communal origin. To grasp the objective, that history is presented as a transformation of the urban political system, applying the principles of systems analysis in political science.
