Contadini su terre dei Medici. Mezzadria e allevamento nel Mugello (secolo XV)

L’esame della documentazione della proprietà medicea in Mugello (Archivio Mediceo Avanti il Principato) e l’integrazione con la straordinaria fonte fiscale del Catasto consente di approfondire alcuni aspetti del mondo contadino. L’interesse è focalizzato soprattutto sull’economia domestica dei mezzadri e sulla loro intraprendenza, attraverso i dati documentari che coprono un arco temporale di circa quarant’anni (1427-1469). Ne emerge un modo della mezzadria meno statico, dove l’integrazione tra agricoltura e allevamento costituisce un elemento di particolare interesse specialmente nel territorio del Mugello. The examination of the documentation of Medici property in Mugello (Archivio Mediceo Avanti il Principato) and the integration with the extraordinary fiscal source of the Catasto allows for a deeper understanding of some aspects of the peasant world. The focus is primarily on the domestic economy of the sharecroppers and their resourcefulness, through documentary data covering a period of about forty years (1427-1469). What emerges is a less static form of sharecropping, where the integration of agriculture and livestock farming constitutes a particularly interesting element, especially in the territory of Mugello.
