O volume aqui apresentado, Fernando Pessoa – O mítico Oriente de si mesmo, de Adalberto Alves, não só se insere muito bem no âmbito dos estudos sobre Fernando Pessoa, como, focalizando a atenção nos Orientes pessoanos, vai reforçar os contributos dos livros e artigos já existentes relativos à questão oriental pessoana, oferecendo, desta vez, uma leitura holística. No específico, Adalberto Alves, enquanto arabista e conhecedor de outras culturas orientais, deu vida a um volume altamente reflexivo sobre os genuínos e os discutíveis conhecimentos de Pessoa, em torno do vasto e complexo universo cultural oriental, em que, por Oriente, entendemos tanto o misticismo islâmico (sufismo) e o judaísmo, como o taoismo e o confucionismo chineses, o xintoísmo japonês e o budismo. Desta forma, Adalberto Alves propõe uma nova leitura, holística e transdisciplinar, de carácter para-orientalizante, sobre a vida e a obra do poeta e homem Fernando Pessoa, investigando os “claro-escuros” que atravessam o pensamento do génio português e as seduções do mítico Oriente por ele sonhadas. The presented volume of Adalberto Alves, Fernando Pessoa – O mítico Oriente de si mesmo, falls within the scope of Fernando Pessoa Studies, but focusing on the Oriental theme, the volume will strenghten existing books and articles regarding Pessoa’s Orients, offering this time an holistic lecture. Specifically, Adalberto Alves as Arabist and connoisseur of other Eastern cultures, published a highly reflective volume on the authentic and questionable Pessoa’s knowledges around the wide and complex universe of Eastern cultures and what we mean by the East: Islamic mysticism (Sufism), Judaism, Taoism, Confucianism, Xinto, Buddhism. In this way, Adalberto Alves presents a new holistic and transdisciplinary lecture on the life and work of the man and poet Fernando Pessoa, investigating light and shade of the Portuguese genius’ thought and the allurements of the mythical East.
