This contribution examines the event organized by the Maggio Fiorentino in 1964 in Florence, entirely dedicated to the culture of Expressionism, in which König participated. It also delves into König’s interest in German Expressionist architecture, which in 1967 led him to co-author the book Architecture of Expressionism with his colleague Franco Borsi. Beyond architecture, König was particularly fascinated by early 20th-century German cinema. Thus, both the Florentine event and the 1967 publication provided him with the opportunity to study the distinctive connections between German cinema and German architecture.

Abstract
This contribution examines the event organized by the Maggio Fiorentino in 1964 in Florence, entirely dedicated to the culture of Expressionism, in which König participated. It also delves into König’s interest in German Expressionist architecture, which in 1967 led him to co-author the book Architecture of Expressionism with his colleague Franco Borsi. Beyond architecture, König was particularly fascinated by early 20th-century German cinema. Thus, both the Florentine event and the 1967 publication provided him with the opportunity to study the distinctive connections between German cinema and German architecture.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
