Riferimenti al mito della consanguineità nel testo sinofono Variopinta Roma (Binfen Luoma) di Li Shuman

This article presents the case study of Colorful Rome (Binfen Luoma), a Sinophone work written by Li Shuman who is an editor of Chinese descent living in Italy, with a focus on the cultural vision expressed by the author in her volume. First of all, I illustrate the concepts of “Sino-Italian literature” and “Italian Sinophone literature”, two terms often used to frame the literary production of the Chinese community in Italy, whose characteristics are described right after. Then I introduce the theoretical discussion about “Chineseness” which is a recurring theme in the Sinophone texts. In the monographic section, I first offer a bio-bibliographical profile of Li and outline the spatiotemporal context in which the book was created, then I comment on three passages to show the author’s reflection on Chineseness.
