Kálmán Mikszáth e il realismo nell’Ungheria del Compromesso

Obiettivo di questo saggio è illustrare la biografia, l’opera e la ricezione critica dello scrittore ungherese Kálmán Mikszáth, un autore che si impone nella letteratura e nella stampa giornalistica ungherese per un trentennio (tra gli anni Ottanta dell’Ottocento e il 1910), e che ancora oggi è considerato in Ungheria uno dei ‘grandi narratori’ insieme a Mór Jókai, Gyula Krúdy, Sándor Bródy. L’influenza dei suoi scritti, dello stile aneddotico, satirico, armato di piccante umorismo, si fa ancora sentire nella prosa ungherese contemporanea. *** The aim of this essay is to illustrate the biography, the work and the critical reception of the Hungarian writer Kálmán Mikszáth, an author who dominated Hungarian literature and the press for thirty years (between the 1880s and 1910), and who is still considered one of the ‘great storytellers’ in Hungary together with Mór Jókai, Gyula Krúdy, Sándor Bródy. The influence of his writings, of his anecdotal, satirical style, armed with spicy humour, is still felt in contemporary Hungarian prose.
