The essay offers an updated insight on Medardo Rosso's practice on paper, since Luciano Caramel's 1979 catalogue of drawings and after Jodi Hauptman's recent study on the subject. By focusing on the notion of "effet", the essay argues that Rosso's drawings should be considered in close connection to and as an extension of his photographic body of work. In this respect, the artist's awareness of the significance of his drawings included in selected occasions of public exposure is analyzed vis-à-vis the practice of other artists such as Edgar Degas and Paul Cézanne.

Abstract
The essay offers an updated insight on Medardo Rosso's practice on paper, since Luciano Caramel's 1979 catalogue of drawings and after Jodi Hauptman's recent study on the subject. By focusing on the notion of "effet", the essay argues that Rosso's drawings should be considered in close connection to and as an extension of his photographic body of work. In this respect, the artist's awareness of the significance of his drawings included in selected occasions of public exposure is analyzed vis-à-vis the practice of other artists such as Edgar Degas and Paul Cézanne.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
