During recent years, the broad development of biosensors to be applied for pollutant detection can be explained by the need for fast, reliable and miniaturised devices that can be used for environmental analysis. In this field, biosensors might offer indeed some peculiar advantages over conventional analytical techniques such as fast and cost-effective measurements, portability, and on-site analysis as well as the perspective in using for continuous monitoring. This chapter aims to summarise some interesting examples regarding the use of biosensors to detect molecules of interest from the point of view of environmental monitoring.

Abstract
During recent years, the broad development of biosensors to be applied for pollutant detection can be explained by the need for fast, reliable and miniaturised devices that can be used for environmental analysis. In this field, biosensors might offer indeed some peculiar advantages over conventional analytical techniques such as fast and cost-effective measurements, portability, and on-site analysis as well as the perspective in using for continuous monitoring. This chapter aims to summarise some interesting examples regarding the use of biosensors to detect molecules of interest from the point of view of environmental monitoring.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
