The essay collects the epistemological and methodological reflections of the processes that guided the actions of the project “Narrazioni di genere e altre identità”. The aspect of solitude is identified as a critical element at a global level in the present and the need to activate community building paths through the tool of narration in an educational context is highlighted. The pedagogy of recognition and the reflection on the construction of memories (individual, community, public) are analyzed to draw a methodology in educational contexts. The Public history of education represents a fundamental reference of the proposed reflections.
