n the last two decades, the conditions of migrants, refugees, and asylum-seekers (hereafter migrants) in industrialised countries have significantly worsened due to the strengthening of political rhetoric that links their presence with the onset and/or persistence of unfavourable economic contingencies as well as with the (supposed) increase of crime. As for Europe, the spread of social alarm and xenophobic–racist sentiments against migrants has a direct impact on their life and health conditions but it also prevents them from having adequate access to healthcare.
