The European Documentation Centres (EDCs) were created in 1963 with the aim of making the official publications of the European institutions available to Universities, in order to increase knowledge and support the debate on the Community integration project. The article traces the history of the EDCs at European and Italian level, highlighting the activities carried out by the Centres and their main achievements.
