During the school year 2020-2021, SECOP edizioni has launched the “DIGITale” project, a creative contest for secondary school students, who would be authors of short stories inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda: 15 of the total 43 stories have been selected and published in the anthology La tela digitale (AA.VV., 2021), in the printed version and also in the audiobook version. For the production of the audiobook version (which was created by a group of university students coordinated by the two authors of this contribution), a special tool was developed: the W4AR 1.0 framework. W4AR 1.0 was designed and tested to transpose a printed text (written for silent reading) into an audio text (read aloud) through its auralized rewriting (that is aimed at reading aloud). In this contribution we will illustrate how the framework works, in order to bring it to the attention of scholars, researchers and operators engaged in reading aloud, so that they can evaluate its usefulness, and maybe even use it in their activities.
