Geomorphological mapping in the representative area of Montespertoli (Tuscany, Italy) has concentrated on the defintion and mapping of both the landslides themselves and the factors likely to give rise to landslides. Man's use of the land is identified as a major influence on landsliding. Landslide hazard mapping is best carried out through isopleth mappng technique.
