Valorizzazione dei siti archeologici nelle aree interne della toscana e processi di rigenerazione territoriale. La ricerca RESTART

Il saggio descrive RESTART, una ricerca interdisciplinare in corso di svolgimento presso l’Università di Firenze nell’ambito dello Spoke 8 del Partenariato Esteso 5 CHANGES_Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Next-Gen Sustainable Society. RESTART si concentra sui siti archeologici situati in Comuni periferici e ultra-periferici della Toscana, secondo la classificazione della Strategia Nazionale delle Aree Interne (SNAI). Attraverso il recupero e la valorizzazione di questi beni culturali, la ricerca mira a delineare strategie di rigenerazione territoriale. L’ipotesi sostenuta da RESTART è che, nel contesto di intervento (Aree interne), tali processi, per essere realistici ed efficaci, debbano basarsi sulla costruzione di un sistema culturale integrato, capace di coinvolgere le risorse culturali, tangibili e intangibili, presenti nel territorio di riferimento. Dopo aver delineato i presupposti culturali, le peculiarità della ricerca – interdisciplinarità, coinvolgimento attivo delle comunità e replicabilità – e i suoi obiettivi, il saggio concentra la sua attenzione sulle Aree interne della Toscana e illustra il disegno metodologico adottato. La metodologia di RESTART si sviluppa attraverso una procedura rigorosa che consente l’individuazione dei casi studio più coerenti con le finalità della ricerca (siti Restarter). Successivamente, è illustrato il principale prodotto della ricerca: le Linee Guida per la rigenerazione dei siti Restarter, elaborate seguendo il paradigma della ricerca collaborativa. The essay presents RESTART, an interdisciplinary research project currently being carried out at the University of Florence within Spoke 8 of the Extended Partnership 5 CHANGES – Cultural Heritage Active Innovation for Next-Gen Sustainable Society. RESTART focuses on archaeological sites located in peripheral and ultra-peripheral municipalities of Tuscany, as classified by the National Strategy for Inner Areas (SNAI). Through the recovery and enhancement of these cultural assets, the research aims to outline strategies for territorial regeneration. The underlying hypothesis of RESTART is that, in the context of inner areas, such processes—if they are to be realistic and effective—must be grounded in the construction of an integrated cultural system capable of engaging both tangible and intangible resources present in the local territory. After defining the cultural premises, the essay highlights the distinctive features of the research—interdisciplinarity, active community involvement, and replicability—together with its objectives. It then turns its attention to Tuscany’s inner areas and illustrates the methodological framework adopted. The RESTART methodology unfolds through a rigorous procedure that enables the identification of case studies most consistent with the aims of the project (the so-called Restarter sites). Finally, the essay discusses the main outcome of the research: the Guidelines for the regeneration of Restarter sites, developed according to the paradigm of collaborative research.
