Abstract
The medical device sector represents a point of excellence within Italian industry, characterized by a high technological content and intense research and innovation activity. The definition of medical device covers a wide range of products, from diagnostic systems to customized prostheses, made increasingly efficient through the integration of advanced digital technologies. In recent years, design has taken on a strategic role in the biomedical field, with a focus on personalization, ergonomics, and user comfort, thanks to the use of parametric modeling, digital fabrication, and wearable sensors. The human-centered approach and biomimetics are revolutionizing the design of orthopedic and rehabilitative devices, enabling the development of hybrid solutions that improve interaction between patients and healthcare professionals. The integration of the Internet of Things (IoT), artificial intelligence, and biometric analysis is fostering personalized medicine, transforming the body into an active node in health management. The Covid-19 emergency accelerated this transformation, highlighting the potential of digital technologies in healthcare.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
