The contribution, starting from the structuring of original data arising from the research activity that for over twenty years the TESIS Center has been developing in collaboration with Ministry of University and Research and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti S.p.A., in the field of student housing, aims to highlight how the reuse of disused housing stock, even if not of recognized architectural merit, can be carried out, with excellent results, thanks to efficient national policies and the individuation of new functions, closely related to contemporary needs. The presentation of two case studies, selected from more than 200 investigated and monitored, is also intended to highlight the quality of Student housing in Italy, which in the last twenty years has increased significantly, not only in terms of architectural beauty, but also in terms of space and services offered.
