The Guidelines for Climate Adaptive Forest Restoration and Reforestation Projects is the result of the coordinated work of a large, diverse group of researchers, experts, practitioners, and academics, of different ages and from 37 countries. This group, and the work behind this book, is rooted in the PEN-CAFoRR (Pan-European Network for Climate Adaptive Forest Restoration and Reforestation), a COST Action (CA19128) supported by COST (European Cooperation in Science and Technology). A large network of 167 members from 37 countries worked together over a four-year COST Action lifetime to address key questions for climate adaptive forest restoration and forestation success. These research questions, which shaped the organization of the network in appropriate working groups (WGs), are (1) setting the goals (WG1—Aiming at Goal!); (2) selecting the best forest reproductive material (WG2—Facing the changes!); (3) determining the appropriate attributes and methods to produce FRM (WG3—Quality matters!); (4) applying the best forest establishment techniques and developing of post-planting protection and silviculture (WG4—Planting for the future!).

Abstract
These research questions, which shaped the organization of the network in appropriate working groups (WGs), are (1) setting the goals (WG1—Aiming at Goal!); (2) selecting the best forest reproductive material (WG2—Facing the changes!); (3) determining the appropriate attributes and methods to produce FRM (WG3—Quality matters!); (4) applying the best forest establishment techniques and developing of post-planting protection and silviculture (WG4—Planting for the future!).| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
