In this note, I have adopted a simplified categorial inventory for NP, reduced essentially to the lexical head N and to one functional category, namely the phase head n. At the same time, I have tried to implement Chomsky’s (2004; 2019; 2021) various proposals for a Merge rule forming ordered pairs or sequences (i.e. Pair Merge/SF), in order to model Romance modification structures.

Abstract
