Prospettive bio-antropologiche sul legno storto

Il saggio esamina il dibattito contemporaneo sulla natura umana a partire dal dialogo del 1965 tra Adorno e Gehlen intorno alla definizione di scienza dell’uomo. Valorizzando le prospettive bio-antropologiche, il testo analizza le teorie dell’autodomesticazione, che consentono di reinterpretare l’ambivalenza dell’essere umano tenendo insieme istanze di antropologia negativa e positiva. Il confronto tra posizioni divergenti sull’origine della guerra e della violenza intergruppo conduce a un quadro che pare attestare la storicità e la non fissità della natura umana, lasciando tuttavia irrisolta ogni prospettiva ottimistica sul futuro dell’umanità. The essay examines contemporary debates on human nature, taking as its point of departure the 1965 dialogue between Adorno and Gehlen on the definition of a “science of man.” Drawing on bio-anthropological perspectives, it analyzes theories of self-domestication, which make it possible to reinterpret human ambivalence by holding together negative and positive anthropological paradigms. Through a comparison of divergent views on the origins of war and intergroup violence, the study outlines a framework that underscores the historicity and non-fixity of human nature, while leaving unresolved any optimistic outlook on humanity’s future.
