They function as protective agents and signaling molecules, augmenting stress tolerance and affecting growth and gene expression. The present work examines the several functions of saccharides in plant stress responses and developmental control. It offers an extensive examination of the roles of saccharides in plant systems, highlighting their essential participation in stress response mechanisms and developmental processes. The study investigates the fundamental molecular mechanisms that enable these tasks and explores the techniques utilized to analyze saccharides’ roles in plants. The study underlines the significance of saccharides in plant resilience and growth through an analysis of both biochemical and physiological factors. The constraints of existing approaches and the prospects for future research lines are critically reviewed to improve the comprehension of saccharides’ roles in plant biology.
