This entry highligth the use of earth in the architecture of the Medieval Armenian capital Dvin. Contrary to the common belief that Armenian architecture is essentially built of stone, the case of Dvin demonstrates that the use of earth in construction was widespread throughout the Middle Ages and up until the last century.
