The contribution examines the urban gateways of Gdańsk as key elements of the city’s fortified system, within PROMETHEUS, an EU-funded project developed between 2019 and 2023. Through the use of digital data, historical analysis and architectural documentation, the study investigates the formal, defensive and symbolic languages of these gateways, contributing to the interpretation of Gdańsk’s layered urban heritage and to the construction of an urban cultural route.
