Problèmes de morphologie éblaïte dans une perspective comparative. ŠÈ à Ebla: pronom déterminatif-relatif ou préposition?

Questo studio - scritto su invito del gruppo di David Cohen di Parigi, per due volumi collettivi interamente dedicati ad aspetti peculiari della fonologia, morfologia e sintassi delle lingue camito-semitiche - affronta la problematica grafia ŠÈ nei testi di Ebla. Frequentemente documentata negli Archivi eblaiti, questa grafia è stata interpretata in modi diversi, per lo più come preposizione, anche nella letteratura più recente. Sulla base di un’analisi sistematica delle attestazioni dell’intero corpus eblaita, e di un esame delle particolari funzioni svolte dal pronome determinativo-relativo nelle altre lingue semitiche, viene dimostrato come nessuna delle ipotesi precedenti appaia adeguata a spiegare la totalità delle occorrenze, che, invece, risultano perfettamente e coerentemente interpretate considerando, appunto, ŠÈ come grafia ‘pseudo-logografica’ del pronome determinativo-relativo.----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The present study - which I was invited to present by the David Cohen’s research group in Paris for two collective volumes entirely devoted to peculiar aspects of Afro-Asiatic languages - focuses on the problematic writing ŠÈ in the Ebla texts. This writing, frequently attested in the Archives, has been mostly regarded as a preposition, even in recent studies. On the basis of a systematic analysis of its occurrences in the entire Eblaite corpus, and of an examination of the particular functions of the determinative-relative pronoun in the other Semitic languages, it has been possible to demonstrate the inadequacy of the previous hypotheses, and to prove that ŠÈ, in the Ebla texts, can always be correctly interpreted as a ‘pseudo-logographic’ writing of the determinative-relative pronoun.
