The chapter suggests the way of efficient masterplanning process, in which urban dynamics and urban natural processes should be taken under consideration, to achieve successful urban regeneration and development in the cities. It describes the general character of masterplans and examines parameters of sustainability that might help to shape their form, character, use and implementation. Moreover, some basic principles that derive from an ecological design process are strongly recommended. The attitudes and urban values of urban life today are reviewed in terms of environmental social and economical issues whereas built environment is just an element of a neighbourhood.
