Educare ai diritti nella scuola primaria

La metafora della scuola come mondo in scala ridotta, più piccolo ma non meno complesso, è utile per delineare una possibile prospettiva da utilizzare per inquadrare i temi del nostro tempo e soprattutto per riflettere e interrogarsi sulle risorse educative a disposizione di una data società per affrontare i problemi emergenti. La scuola può diventare un laboratorio sociale in cui sperimentare forme nuove di socializzazione interculturale, mettere mano alla costruzione di una forma più avanzata di democrazia. The metaphor of school as a world in miniature, smaller but not less complex, it is useful to outline a perspective which can be used to focus the issues of present time and, above all, to reflect and wonder about the educational resources available to a given society to address emerging problems. School can become a social laboratory in which to test new forms of intercultural socialization, to build a more advanced form of democracy. The paper provides a historical journey around the theme of child rights in the twentieth century, and deepens the analysis of the transistion through the enunciation of the right to literacy, to the recognition of the right to successful education as a condition to improve social inclusion and active participation of all young citizens.
