Il saggio traccia la storia dei repertori italiani e dialettali di modi di dire, espressioni fraseologiche e proverbi. Le opere sono classificate secondo la loro tipologia e sono inquadrate nelle varie epoche storiche secondo i loro aspetti più significativi. Since its very origin, the phraseological heritage of the Italian language and of its dialects - idioms, proverbial expressions, proverbs, mottoes etc. - has been collected by many repertoires. A first typological classification of these works, which were drafted for different purposes, is given here. A historical account of their production is also provided, focusing on collections and on the most significant aspects
