The steppes and the uplands of Northern and Central Syria, offer few resources immediately available for construction. With earth available everywhere and in large quantities, in the face of scarcity of wood and stone, populations occurring in these regions have achieved habitats consisting of small villages with corbelled domes houses built entirely in earth. The article describes the building system, the building process and all the building elements relating to corbelled domes of norhen Syria.
