The aim of this study is to find a possible relationship between meteorological conditions and the psycho-social well-being in very young children attending nursery school. Differences in children emotional and behavioural state between daily observations and the baseline reported by parent’s and teacher’s questionnaire will be related with indoor and outdoor meteorological changes. We expect that some weather variables, as high temperatures, rain and wind speed can affect children’s irritability and mood. We expect also that other factors, such as indoor thermal conditions, can affect children wellbeing in relation to their clothes.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find a possible relationship between meteorological conditions and the psycho-social well-being in very young children attending nursery school. Differences in children emotional and behavioural state between daily observations and the baseline reported by parent’s and teacher’s questionnaire will be related with indoor and outdoor meteorological changes. We expect that some weather variables, as high temperatures, rain and wind speed can affect children’s irritability and mood. We expect also that other factors, such as indoor thermal conditions, can affect children wellbeing in relation to their clothes.
