"Terza Italia" e strutture socio-agrarie tradizionali. Per un bilancio del dibattito

Il saggio si interroga sul possibile nesso (più volte asserito) fra i tipi di piccola e media conduzione agraria appoderata - tradizionalmente dominanti in passato nella cosiddetta "Terza Italia" - e lo sviluppo recente di piccole imprese manifatturiere nella stessa area. Dopo un'approfondita analisi dei tipi di conduzione, esamina i pattern attuali dello sviluppo della piccola impresa, per concludere che un nesso fra i due fenomeni è molto dubbio. The paper investigates the possible link (repeatedly asserted) among the types of small and medium-run agricultural farms - traditionally dominant in the past within the so-called "Third Italy" - and the recent development of small manufacturing firms in the same area. After a thorough analysis of the foms of farming, it examines the current pattern of development of small manufactring enterprises, to conclude that a link between the two phenomena remains very doubtful.
