From cultural cluster to creative cluster: The case of art restoration in Florence

An important debate on the role of creativity and culture as factors of local economic development has been enriched with new suggestions, which mainly concern the issues of innovation and creativity. Our specific goal is to identify what elements can contribute to transform a cultural cluster into a creative cluster and to understand whether cities of arts can be considered as an example of creative milieu. We focus on the case of laser technologies for restoration in Florence, that constitutes an interesting example of innovation led by a creative capacity, engendered by creative environments in art cities.
