Computer-based teaching in applied linguistics

The use of CAI in linguistics is very limited even though during the last years there has been a growing interest in related tecniques for teaching grammatical rules of foreign languages. As far as we know nobody until now has tried to prepare a CAI course fore teaching and testing applied linguistics. This is surprising because many linguistical subjects can be learned only by doing a lot of exercise. In this paper an outline of some problems about the teaching of linguistical subjects is given and experimental course in generative grammar now being tested is described.
