One way to develop diets for broodstock fish is to determine the composition of the tissues of wild broodstock and try to report these compositions in eggs of farmed fish by dietary manipulation. The neutral lipid fraction stored in broodstock muscle and liver is mobilized in the early vitellogenesis and contributes to the reserves of the eggs and / or is used as energy substrate for the synthesis of lipoproteins that carry lipids and proteins from the liver to the ovaries. The aim of this study was to evaluate and compare the fatty acid profiles of the polar lipid fraction of wild and cultivated lambari tissue (muscle, liver and ovaries).
