The knowledge of soil hydrologic features and of their spatial variability is very important in the hydrologic modeling concepts to a physical description of the underlying phenomena. This present work takes into account some investigative methods to verify their utility and to point out possible approach for a process description and evaluation of soil parameters. The basin of the Sieve river, a tributary of the Arno river in the Tuscany region of Italy is considered for the study and digital data from lithological and pedological maps were collected. From these data, maps of some hydrologic soil parameter are derived. The geostatistical parameters of the distribution of such properties are calculated and a descriptive analysis of their spatial variability from a hydrological point of view was produced.
