Applying Career Construction in Group-based contexts with adults

The present chapter aims to offer some reflections relative to the profound contribution of the Career Construction Theory (Savickas, 2001, 2005, 2011a) and its possibilities of application with adults and groups in a changing world of work. The new methodology of involving the audience in group-based career counseling for the 21st century is delineated and the studies on effectiveness of group-based career counseling interventions inspired to the Career Construction Theory of Mark Savickas with adults in this new perspective of involving the audience are described. The present chapter underlines the relevant contribution that the Career Construction Theory has provided for group-based career counseling for the 21st century for helping clients to construct their lives in a changing world of work thanks to a guided meta-reflection on Self and on the reflections carried by an audience.
