The essay addresses the issue of vocational training and education and its institutionalization in the united Italy. The economic and social transformations, the emergence of industrial society changing the form and content of work through the growth of the standardization of production and organization. Vocational training and education consequently reduces the space of specificity that has always characterized, as they will be differentiated, specialized and formalized.
