Adaptation to climate change is an emerging theme of the climate policy agenda in Europe. Changing weather risks have become a major political concern, and climate change research and policy is increasingly seeking to join forces with the field of disaster risk management. Building on estimates of current vulnerabilities and risks, this chapter introduces a risk management framework for assessing adaptation to major weather hazards in Europe, drought and heatwave stress to agriculture, and flood risk.

Abstract
Adaptation to climate change is an emerging theme of the climate policy agenda in Europe. Changing weather risks have become a major political concern, and climate change research and policy is increasingly seeking to join forces with the field of disaster risk management. Building on estimates of current vulnerabilities and risks, this chapter introduces a risk management framework for assessing adaptation to major weather hazards in Europe, drought and heatwave stress to agriculture, and flood risk.I documenti in FLORE sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
