This article aims to analyse the relationship between animals and women’s representation in Luigi Meneghello’s works, from Libera nos a malo (1963) to L’apprendistato (2012). In particular, it focuses on the artistic references involved in the depiction of animals, foregrounding, the “feminization” of the animal on the one hand and the “animalization” of the female subject on the other.
