The sizeable collection of Latin inscriptions (and a few Greek ones) assembled at the beginning of the 20th century by Count Francesco Vitali, a nobleman from Fermo, currently in Arezzo at the Casa Museo dell'Antiquariato Ivan Bruschi, is shown to have been purchased in bulk in Rome from famed antique dealers Elio Jandolo and Ernesto Magnani, rather than gathered by cherry-picking from scattered findings in Fermo and its immediate surroundings as it has been common knowledge so far.
