In the last few years Bridge Management System (BMS) have been increasingly used by infrastructure owners, especially those systems, based on stochastic methods, which make it possible to define a condition ratio (CR) starting from periodic inspections of bridges, during which a specialist identifies defects and evaluates them according to specific guidelines. Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an approach for creating and managing a 3D model complete with information data that is useful to management of a specific asset during the whole life. The proposed study had as its purpose the investigation of a possible BIM-Use for an infrastructure owner, precisely the monitoring of the degradation conditions of existing railway bridges. The functions of an existing software aimed at the purposes described above have been implemented in a BIM environment. As a pilot study, a survey and modeling of an existing railway bridge was carried out, the results are also valid for road bridges.

Abstract
As a pilot study, a survey and modeling of an existing railway bridge was carried out, the results are also valid for road bridges.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
